At Coast Wide Containers Australia, customer satisfaction is important to us. This Refund and Returns Policy outlines the conditions under which refunds, returns, or exchanges may be considered for our products and services.
By purchasing or hiring from us, you agree to the terms set out in this policy.
1. General Policy
Due to the nature of shipping containers and custom-built products, all sales are considered final unless otherwise stated in writing. We encourage customers to carefully review container specifications and ask questions before completing a purchase or hire agreement.
2. Container Sales
New and Used Containers
-
Containers are sold “as described” at the time of sale.
-
Minor cosmetic marks, dents, or surface rust on used containers are considered normal and do not qualify for a refund.
-
Once a container has been delivered, unloaded, or collected, it is deemed accepted by the customer.
Refunds or returns will only be considered if:
-
The container delivered is significantly different from what was agreed upon in writing, or
-
There is a major structural defect that was not disclosed prior to sale.
3. Custom and Modified Containers
All custom or modified containers are non-refundable and non-returnable once production has commenced.
This includes, but is not limited to:
-
Container offices
-
Workshops
-
Site sheds
-
Containers with added doors, windows, electrical fittings, or insulation
Customers are required to approve designs and specifications before work begins.
4. Container Hire
For container hire:
-
Hire fees are non-refundable once the hire period has commenced.
-
Early returns do not qualify for partial refunds unless agreed in writing.
-
Containers must be returned in the same condition as delivered, excluding reasonable wear and tear.
-
Damage beyond normal use may result in repair or replacement charges.
5. Cancellations
Order Cancellations
-
Orders cancelled before dispatch or modification may be eligible for a partial refund, less any administrative or handling fees.
-
Orders cancelled after dispatch or delivery are not eligible for refunds.
Custom Orders
-
Custom container orders cannot be cancelled once modification work has started.
6. Transport and Delivery Issues
If your container arrives damaged due to transport:
-
You must notify us within 24 hours of delivery
-
Photographic evidence must be provided
Failure to report issues within this timeframe may result in the claim being declined.
7. Australian Consumer Law
This policy operates in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights you may have under the ACL. Where a product fails to meet consumer guarantees, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund as provided by law.
